Make operations simple with the setting dial!

The setting dial is your new tool for operation!!
See how easy it is to make simple operatioon settings.
 

1. Quick Setting using Setting Dial

  • The frequency and parameters etc. canbe set with a few simple steps.

  • Easily set values : turn quickly to greatly change the value, and turn slowly to finely adjust the value.

  • Accurate settings can be made with the new notch-type "clicking" feel.

2. Simple Operation

  • As the default, the parameters that can be set have been grouped into the minimum required twelve parameters. Thus, parameters can be managed easily.

  • The modes can be changed between the PU and external operation modes just by pressing the PU/EXT (operation mode changeover) key. The current operation mode can be confirmed with the status display LED.

  • The set frequency and the output current value can be monitored just by using the setting dial (set frequency monitor) or SET key (output current value monitor). (When in the monitor display state.)

3. Automatic Torque Boost Control

  • By incorporating Mitsubishi's original and newly developed "automatic torque boost control", a maximum 150% torque at 6Hz is possible.

  • The need for torque boost setting can be eliminated and the current during no load can be controlled. Example speed-torque characteristics using newly developed automatic torque boost control is shown on the left. (For SF-JR 4P 0.75kW motor)

4. Compact Design

  • The foot print is the same as the Mitsubishi FREQROL-E520.

  • (400V class installation area has been unified to 108mm (128m.)

  • The height dimensions for all capacities have been unified to 128 mm. making panel layout easier.

5. Environment Awareness

  • The popular Soft-PWM control is incorporated as standard. An increase in noise can be reduced, and noise can be suppressed to a minimum.

  • Reactor connection to aid harmonic suppression. The compact and lightweight DC reactor (FR-BEL) can be connected. Connect an AC reactor (FR-BAL) when using the single-phase 100V class.

6. Easy Maintenance

  • The cooling fan can be replaced easily due to a simple cassette design. By setting the fan "ON-OFF control", operation with an extended life can be realized. (The ON-OFF control is set as the default.)

  • Wiring space is secured and the wiring work efficiency is enhanced by incorporating an expanded front cover and comb-type wiring cover.

7. Global specification

  • Compatible with UL, cUL an EN (CE Mark).

8. Other Handy Functions

  • Therminal function (multi-speed 15 of speeds, error reset, output stop, etc.) can be selected

  • In-rush current suppression circuit is standard for all capacities

  • PID control

  • 4 to 20mA input

  • Sink/Source logic is selectable

» The ability to maximize inverter performance

  • New levels in drive performance have been achieved thanks to the use of advanced flux vector control, an original technology developed by Mitsubishi.
    • The units feature a RISC processor which is used for on-line auto tuning, turning the motor quickly when starting. This allows it to perform high-precision operations that are unaffected by motor temperature, as well as stable high-torque operation from ultra low speeds.
      - Speed control range ......... 1:120 (0.5 to 60Hz, driving mode)
    • Combining this function with a motor equipped with PLG feedback improves high-precision operations still further (built-in option FR-A5AP).
      - Speed control range .......... 1:1000 (driving mode)
      - Speed variation rate .......... +/-0.02% (driving mode)
      - Zero speed holding torque .... 150% (short time rating)
  • Uneven rotation at low speeds has been greatly improved by the use of a smart driver (a newly developed ASIC) which directly monitors and controls the main circuit's status. Less than half that of a conventional Mitsubishi inverter at 1 Hz.
  • Further improving the responsiveness of current detection has reduced the occurrence of trips arising from overcurrent.
  • The addition of a number of new functions such as PID control and brake sequence function has made it possible to handle various aplications.
  • Up to three option cards can be mounted internally
  • Network connection with a PLC is possible, e.g. Control & Communication Link (CC-Link).

» Simple operation and maintenance

  • The FR-DU04 control panel with simple operation is provided as standard on all models. Parameter setting values also can be stored by FR-DU04.
  • The FR-PU04, LCD parameter unit with backlight is available as an option. (8 different languages are available on this unit.)
  • Removable control terminal block makes maintenance easier.
  • The life of the cooling fan has been extended by the use of ON/OFF control, and also replacement is easier.

» Environment friendly

  • In addition to the conventional low-noise mode, Mitsubishi has developed its own original Soft-PWM control method which suppresses the increase in acoustic noise and limits RFI noise to minimum levels similar to those of the Mitsubishi FR-Z Series inverter.
  • A compact and light weight direct current reactor (DCR) can be connected to units of all capacity (0.4K to 55K). It is also possible to connect a high power factor converter (FR-HC) that comply with Japanese harmonic guidelines (conversion factor: K5=0).
  • Combining with the optional EMC filter makes it easy to comply with European EMC Directives.

  • The optional FR-PU04 parameter unit supports 8 languages.
  • NEMA1 compliance is standard up to 22K.
  • IP40 compliance up to 22K with the optional cover.

» Very powerful

  • High torque of 150% at 1Hz.
    The combination of the original general-purpose magnetic flux vector control with slip compensation made it possible to achieve 150% torque at 1Hz.
    Using off-line auto-tuning allows motors to be controlled by general-purpose magnetic flux vector control even when the motor characteristics vary.
  • By connecting a brake resistor, regenerative braking ability can be improved.(0.4K or more).
  • Fewer trips are caused by overcurrent due to the high-response current limit function.


» Very simple

  • A frequency setting potentiometer was added to the control panel as a standard (Frequeney setting potentiometer type).
    The FR-PU04, LCD parameter unit with backlight is available as an option. (8 different languages are available on this unit.)
    Parameter user groups have been made a standard.
    Setup software can be used for parameter settings.
  • The life of the cooling fan has been extended by the use of ON/OFF control, and replacement is made easier.
  • A screwed terminal block is used for the main circuit.
    A screwed terminal block is also used for the all new control circuit (with plug in leads). The lead holes were made to be wider.


» Very compact

  • Most compact inverter in its class.
    Only 85% of the volume of the Mitsubishi FR-U100 (for 0.2K).
  • All models from 0.1 to 3.7kW of the single phase 100V, single phase 200V and three phases 200V are the same 128mm in height. This makes panel layout easier.
    The three phases 400V models are the same 150mm in height.


» Environmental friendly

  • With the adoption of the original developed Soft-PWM control method, the increase in acoustic noise can be suppressed and RFI noise can be limited to minimum levels similar to those of the Mitsubishi conventional FR-Z series inverter.
  • The units are compatible with harmonic restrictions.
